Dear Parents and Stakeholders
As the College’s Management Committee it is our priority to ensure that Cranbury College is able to continue to provide an outstanding education experience for all our students and withstand the many challenges that may come our way.
This is not only for our current students but those children who join the college in the years to come, thereby protecting the college’s role at the heart of Readings education provision and retaining its unique qualities and strengths.
In recent years you are no doubt aware, there has been a very strong focus on the academy programme, from the Department for Education and the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA formerly the Education Funding Agency (EFA)), who continue to actively encourage schools to look at the options of multi academy trusts to ensure sustainability and take advantage of the benefits of collaborative working in a formal way.
As Governors of Cranbury College, we would not be fulfilling our responsibilities if we did not take this matter seriously and look at the strategic position for the school. As such we want to let you know that the Management Committee and Senior Leadership Team (SLT), including parent and community governors, has carried out a thorough investigation into the options available to us, including joining a Multi Academy Trust (MAT).
As a result of this work, the Management Committee believes the best way of continuing to maintain the highest standards in the future while retaining our ethos, vision and community is to join a MAT.
Your opinions are important to us and, in accordance with guidelines from The Department for Education (DfE), we intend to run a two- week consultation from 23rd September until the 6th October 2019 with all stakeholders.
If you would like to discuss this with a member of the Senior Leadership Team or if you would like to submit some questions, please contact us at;
