KEY STAFF

Headteacher - Ceri Burns
 

Ceri started her career as a Physical Education Teacher in Manchester 15 years ago, after graduating from Edge Hill University with a BA (hons) degree in Physical Education.  Ceri then moved to the South of England to continue her teaching in Maidenhead. During her time here, Ceri took on a variety of roles including Head of Year and Raising Standards Lead.  During this time, Ceri completed a Master’s degree in Education alongside her teaching duties.

Ceri joined Maiden Erlegh Trust in 2017, where she joined Maiden Erlegh School in Reading as a senior leader responsible for Behaviour, Safeguarding and Attendance. Ceri was fortunate to be involved with the development of this brand-new school; one of the first additional schools for Maiden Erlegh Trust. Ceri has a wealth of experience in teaching children aged 11 – 18 in a variety of different contexts.

Ceri has always managed to form positive relationships with both students and parents and enjoys supporting those who need extra support in reaching their goals.

Deputy Headteacher (Curriculum & standards) - Claire Willmott 

Claire started her career as an English teacher 14 years ago, after graduating from St Mary's University, Twickenham, with a BA (hons) degree in English.  Claire has undertaken a variety of roles including Head of Year, SENCO, Head of Inclusion, Assistant Head and Deputy Head in various schools across the Trust she previously worked for in both primary and secondary phase.  During this time, Claire completed her National Award for SENCO Award and her NPQSL and was trust lead for Alternative Provision.

Claire's main aim as a leader in the education system is to make a difference to all stakeholders she works with; she is proud of the relationships she works hard to develop with staff, students and parents alike and is excited to continue doing so as she begins her journey with Maiden Erlegh Trust as Deputy Head, Curriculum and Standards.

Assistant headteacher (Behaviour & wellbeing) - Charlotte Baggley 

Charlotte has been in the education system for 16 years, initially starting as an English teacher in a mainstream setting. She then became a Head of Year to 270 students where she was responsible for their pastoral care and individual needs. She completed this role for 9 years ensuring high standards of behaviour and expectations, where students could access an education with the care and support they needed to move forward with their next steps. 

Charlotte then turned her attention to working as a Behaviour Lead for 2000 students, ensuring the school had a clear plan and support mechanisms to support students with their behavioural needs.

Charlotte has worked as a Safeguarding Lead for 10 years and continues with this work to date as Designated Safeguarding Lead at Cranbury College. 

Assistant headteacher (SENCO) - Kayleigh Forbes 

Kayleigh has been working with children, young people and their families for 14 years. Initially, she began her career as a Nursery Nurse and volunteered as Family Support worker for a local charity, while studying part-time to gain her degree and qualified teacher status. Kayleigh qualified as a teacher in 2015. 

For the past three years, Kayleigh has been part of the senior leadership team strategically leading the improvement of a local primary school after an inadequate Ofsted inspection. Kayleigh is passionate about advocating the rights of students and their families. 

School business manager - Abigail Kendall
 

Abigail started out in retail and before moving over to the education sector, she worked as an Assistant Business Manager for a premium skincare brand. Abigail joined the Cranbury College admin team in 2020 just before the pandemic and admired the Cranbury team ethic during and after the effects of covid. Abigail loves the ethos of Cranbury College and seeing the effect each and every member of staff has on their students, parents, and local community. During her time at Cranbury, she has worked in many different areas across the admin team and aided in different projects across the school. Abigail has enrolled on a Level 4 Business Professional Apprenticeship that she plans to do over the next two years alongside her School Business Manager role.
