Careers, Work Experience and Work Related Learning

Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) is an important part of learning at Horizons, helping young people understand the opportunities available to them and make informed choices about their future.

We provide activities, experiences and guidance that help young people develop skills, explore their interests and strengths, and prepare for their next steps into further education, training, apprenticeships or work.

Equality and diversity considerations are embedded throughout our careers programme.

    Our aims for CEIAG are:

    • To help young people make informed and considered choices at key points in their education.
    • To support young people as they prepare for their next steps.
    • To develop employability skills and encourage personal development.
    • To help young people value difference and diversity.
    • To encourage ambition and increase awareness of the opportunities available to them.
    • To provide guidance about options, further education, training and career choices, including apprenticeships.

Careers education at Horizons is about more than learning about jobs. It helps young people understand the world of work, develop practical and interpersonal skills, explore different opportunities and prepare confidently for their future.

In this section, you will find useful links and information about careers, further education and training, including careers fairs, volunteering and work experience. Horizons also has partnership status with Adviza, giving young people access to impartial careers guidance through our careers adviser, Anna Finlason.

Please find the Horizons Provider Access Policy below.
