PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Physical Education is a vital part of school life and our students’ future well-being. At Cranbury College all pupils within our are offered weekly Sport lessons. Physical Education benefits all students regardless of ability by enhancing existing skills, allowing them to be introduced to new sports, building on an individual’s strength, stamina and agility, developing a deeper understanding of the long-term impact on health and physical and mental well-being, so they are better equipped to be successful in later life. Physical Education also allows for a student to work within a team, transfer skills learnt from and to other subjects and develop leadership qualities which are vital life skills for their futures.

 

Key Stage 3 (Years 7, 8 and 9)

The primary goal at KS3 involves engaging students in a variety of sport, health and fitness activities, both indoor and outdoor, to enhance transferrable skills such as teamwork, and attitude to learning.

 

Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11)

At Key Stage 4, all our learners have sport as an integral part of their study programme, with the offer of the option to study for the NCFE CACHE Level 1/2 Technical Award in Health and Fitness. The aim being to achieve Level 1, and, if practical, to progress onto Level 2.

 

Post 16

Post 16 students are again offered the option to study for the NCFE CACHE Level 1/2 Technical Award in Health and Fitness. The aim being either to achieve Level 1, and progress onto Level 2; or target the Level 2 directly.
